Our History
MatMeas is the dedicated international brand of Balab (Wuhan BaLab Technology Co., Ltd.), launched in 2025 from our Shenzhen International Business Headquarters to bring Balab's precision electrical characterization solutions to research institutions worldwide. Balab's journey began in Wuhan in 2013 with a singular mission: to bridge technological gaps in functional materials testing—developing proprietary breakthroughs including the patented three-ring electrode method (2019) and magnetic fluid sealing technology (2021) that revolutionized high-temperature measurement accuracy.
Recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise (2016), Hubei Province Hidden Champion Cultivation Enterprise (2019), and subsequently honored as both a Wuhan SRCC (Specialized, Refined, Characteristic, Novel) Enterprise and Hubei Province Manufacturing Single-item Champion (2024), Balab has established undisputed domestic leadership across dielectric, piezoelectric, ferroelectric, and resistivity characterization systems.
The 2023 inauguration of Balab's 1,200㎡ Materials Testing Center and Academician Workstation marked a strategic transformation from pure equipment manufacturing to comprehensive "Equipment + Service" solutions, further solidified by the Suzhou branch establishment (2024) and Graduate Student Workstation to deepen industry-academia collaboration. Behind every MatMeas instrument is Balab's interdisciplinary team of nearly 100 professionals—electrical engineers, materials scientists, and application specialists—spanning R&D centers in Wuhan and Suzhou, united by a shared mission to bridge the gap between complex material behaviors and precise measurement data.
Balab's R&D team has built a robust portfolio of over 100 invention patents, pioneering core technologies such as Virtual Ground measurement technology, the three-ring electrode method, and magnetic fluid sealing systems—setting new industry benchmarks with extreme-environment testing precision at 1,650°C and piezoelectric characterization at 0.01 pC/N resolution.
Balab's application scientists collaborate closely with world-leading universities and research institutions—including Tsinghua University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences—delivering comprehensive support from sample preparation and method development to data interpretation through a 1,200㎡ ISO-standard testing facility.
